Interior Designer: Delphine Guyart

As part of an on-going series on the journal I am profiling some of the interior designers whose work I admire, and who have used my products and patterns so beautifully. I find it so inspiring to see how these wonderfully talented designers use my wallpapers and fabrics in their own unique way and with such unexpected combinations. I am hoping that it will also inspire you, and give you ideas of how you can incorporate pattern into your own home.

Today I would like to introduce you to Delphine Guyart based in Bordeaux, France. Delphine Guyart Design launched in 2012 and provides a creative, contemporary approach, with the shapes, colours and materials she uses evolving in perfect harmony to create a unique and personal environment in which her clients can flourish, regardless of whether she is designing an office or a living space.

With a love of natural materials and colours Delphine likes to create a warm, personal atmosphere rather than a complete finished look. “I mix styles and textures to add layers of interest, the challenge is to make these come together to create a harmonious space- and it is this which drives me,” says Delphine.

Delphine initially trained as a graphic designer and admits to a love of graphic patterns, but is also attracted to semi plains which can bring substance to a decorated wall or abstracted figurative designs that can tell a story.

When designing this pink and gold bedroom Delphine wanted a soft pattern that wouldn’t fight against what was already a strong colour palette. “I knew very quickly that Seascape at Sunrise wallpaper was the right design, the waves gently punctuate the wall, and the metallic lines play with the light, it was the perfect combination for my project.
I look for meaning in the patterns I choose that will add depth to the theme," says Delphine. "The relationship between the colours of the room, and the aesthetics of a design needs to be sympathetic.
