1. Dark wall coverings may need their edges coloured with a crayon of a similar tone to avoid white edges showing.
2. This is a ‘paste the wall’ product. The decorator should paste the wall and not the back of the wall covering.
A premium quality tub adhesive or an equivalent good quality, solvent free, fungicide protected, light grade adhesive should be used. DO NOT USE SELF-MIX ADHESIVE. ALL PURPOSE AND HEAVY DUTY PASTES ARE NOT SUITABLE.
3. Paste should be evenly applied to the wall to hang 1 length at a time, to an area slightly wider than the width of the roll. Butt joins together and use a decorator’s brush to smooth down the wall covering, working from the centre to the edges to express air bubbles. Avoid squeezing paste out of joins and ensure paste does not get onto the brush or roller.
No paste should be allowed to come into contact with the surface and hands should be kept clean and dry whilst handling the wall covering.
Paste will damage the surface. The company cannot accept responsibility for marks or damage caused by the paste. Should any paste have been allowed to come into contact with the surface, it should be lightly sponged whilst still moist, using a clean damp sponge.
4. Trim top and bottom with a sharp knife or scissors.

Instructions for hanging paper wallpaper

1. Walls should be clean, dry and even. Remove any old wallpaper and loose paint, scrape powdery, flaky surfaces and roughen painted surfaces with sandpaper.
New plaster should be allowed to dry out completely before, and absorbent surfaces should be prepared with an oil based primer ensuring it dries completely. Please note that metallic effects can be damaged if high levels of alkaline are already present in the walls. Preparing the walls with an alkaline resistant primer should prevent any damage of this type.
For best results, we recommend that the walls be cross-lined using a good quality lining paper. Sizing lining paper will aid adhesion. Lining should be allowed to dry completely before hanging the wall covering.

3. Cut your lengths, allowing for pattern matching and for final trimming top and bottom.
4. Ensure that a ready mixed PVA adhesive containing fungicide is used with this wall covering (USA. A properly mixed wheat or lightweight vinyl adhesive may be used. Medium weight and heavy weight vinyl adhesives must not be used).
5. Apply an even coat of paste to the wallpaper ensuring the edges are well covered, allow to soak for 4-5 minutes until the paper is supple, otherwise bubbling and lifting at the joints may occur. Over soaking can result in shrink back. Do not paste more than one length at a time.
6. Try to avoid getting adhesive on the printed surface, as dried paste will damage the surface of printed wallpaper. If it is unavoidable, gently wipe off with a clean damp sponge whilst it is moist, making sure to rinse the sponge throughout the cleaning process using clear water only and no soap or cleaning liquids of any kind. Do not allow the paste to dry on the surface of the paper. The company cannot accept responsibility for marks or damage caused by the paste. Should any paste have been allowed to come into contact with the surface, it should be lightly sponged whilst still moist, using a clean damp sponge.
7. Use a plumb line when hanging the first length and smooth the paper on to the wall, using a paperhanger’s brush, from the centre of the length to the edge to expel air bubbles. Special care should be taken when hanging very pale colours, as joins are inevitably more apparent. Butt join subsequent lengths. If sufficient paste has been applied to the edges there should be no need to use a seam roller to smooth down the edges.
However if this is necessary, only a felt roller should be used. It is advised that completed whole areas are wiped down with a clean sponge to give a consistent lustre upon drying.
8. Good ventilation and an even temperature will assist in the even drying of wallpaper.
9. This wallpaper has a matt finish, which permits the removal of marks by gently dabbing with a moist sponge. Do not scrub or use any abrasive-cleaning agents.
