The Process Behind the Tiles

Before Seascape tiles there was Seascape fabric, and before the fabric, Seascape wallpaper…

The original design for Seascape was worked on for a couple of years before it initially became a wallpaper. The hand drawn waves were redrawn many, many times to make the design flow evenly and calmly, creating a feeling of restfulness as it flowed around the walls. And then people wanted curtains to go with their wallpaper, so the design was translated onto linen, and now it has been applied to beautiful, undulating hand made tiles to compliment the scheme.

The line drawing has been slightly tweaked and rescaled to fit the ceramic tiles hand made in Spain by a small family run factory before being hand finished at a small tile studio in Oxfordshire.

Each tile mural is made to order and every tile is made and finished by hand.
